The Operational team is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the Tawanda Social Trust's programmes and initiatives. This dedicated and skilled team works directly with communities, manages projects, and ensures the effective delivery of the Trust's objectives.
Eng. Simbarashe Mutazu is a seasoned electrical engineer and principal technician with extensive experience in the power utilities industry. He has worked with the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) Holdings and the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), contributing to the maintenance, operation, and advancement of critical energy systems. His career reflects both technical expertise and the ability to manage complex challenges in engineering environments.
Trained at the Northeast Wales Institute of Higher Education in Wrexham, UK, and Harare Polytechnic in Zimbabwe, he combines international knowledge with local insight. His technical skills are matched by his administrative strengths and entrepreneurial mindset, making him a versatile professional.
Sr. Dr. Monica Nyachowe is a versatile leader with over a decade of experience as a school head at a private institution. She is skilled in leadership, governance, and conflict resolution, with a proven ability to identify needs and implement sustainable capacity-building initiatives. Her achievements include leading school refurbishments and coordinating projects that improved infrastructure and academic outcomes.
She is a creative, strategic thinker with strong communication skills, known for building cohesive teams and motivating people toward shared goals. Beyond her role as a School Head, Sr. Dr. Monica contributes to higher education as the Coordinator for the BA Honours in Transformational Leadership at Arrupe Jesuit University. In this capacity, she helps prepare future leaders with the values and resilience needed to lead with integrity.

Lloyd Derengi is a management, digital transformation and academic consultant. He is the founder of Tawanda Social Trust. He has worked extensively in Zimbabwe and abroad, focusing on social and economic empowerment.
As a seasoned university lecturer and researcher, Lloyd is affiliated with various institutions that include Wits University, Mancosa, the Da Vinci Institute, and the Social Responsibility Research Network (SRRNet). Lloyd has studied for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Management, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Management in Digital Business (MMDB), and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy (human and social sciences).
Adv. Kevin Malunga is a Johannesburg-based lawyer best known for his tenure as South Africa’s Deputy Public Protector from 2012 to 2019. In this role, he worked to combat corruption and improve governance by investigating state organs. His academic background includes a BA Law from the University of Swaziland, an LLB from the University of Natal, and an LLM in International Law from Georgetown University. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Juridical Science degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on economic justice and the right to housing in South Africa.
Earlier in his career, Adv. Malunga served as a State Law Adviser at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, where he contributed to key policy and legislation such as the Traditional Courts Bill. He has also lectured law at the Universities of Natal and the Witwatersrand and worked in the Office of the Chief Justice.
Tendai Sithole (LLB, LLM) is a dedicated legal professional committed to serving vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Guided by her passion for justice, she has consistently used her legal expertise to promote dignity, fairness, and opportunity for those most in need.
She joins Tawanda Social Trust as Secretary on the Board of Advisors, a role she sees as both an honour and a milestone in her career. Tendai views the Trust as a platform to create meaningful impact by aligning her legal skills with community development. His passion for community emancipation has led him to work in various countries, particularly across Southern Africa, where he has played a key role in developing and implementing initiatives that empower marginalized communities.
